What is a '; controlled Variable'; and what is a manipulated variable?

A manipulates ( also known as the independent variable) is something you manipulate to test and idea or hypothesis (example: type of fertilizer for a plant) . A controlled variable is something you control so it will not effect the outcome of your data ( example: amount of sunlight, amount of water, ETC.)
