For sciance i need to know: what a Independent and dependent variable are and constant and control. PLEASE !!!

I really need these! PLEASE ANSWER!For sciance i need to know: what a Independent and dependent variable are and constant and control. PLEASE !!!
x axis is independent....y axis dependent

time is always INDEPENDENT

Lets say ur measuring the height of kids for a 10 year period

ask what will happen no matter what??

will time advance in this experiment?? yes

will the kids always get taller?? no

thus height is DEPENDENT on the kids age

the control is the thing that doesnt change

Lets say ur wanting to know if traction of a car is based on tire tread or weight of the car

experiment would be using the same car and changing to different tires (thus the type of car is ur control)

or

experiment would be changing the weight of the cars (say by adding bags of sand), but keeping the tires the same (thus, tire type was ur control)

the control gives u a ';standard'; to compare all results to; in an experiment only one variable can be changed--such as the number of sand bagsFor sciance i need to know: what a Independent and dependent variable are and constant and control. PLEASE !!!
An independent variable is a variable in an experiment that can change the outcome of others. A dependent variable is a variable that changes because of the independant variable.

For example, in an experiment testing the effects of different soil types, the soil type would be the independent variable and the height of the plants that grew from the soil would be the independent variable.

In my science class, we only used controls, but those are the things that stay the same in all trials.

For example, in the experiment mentioned above, the control might be the amount of water given to each plant.
An independent variable is one that does not change. It means that it has all it needs and is mostly used as an example. A dependent variable is just what it says- dependent on the independent or more simply put it needs something. (Most kids are dependent upon their parents) The constant would be what changes in an experiment. The control group or control is the one you use for comparison. Ex: You have two groups of plants. The first group is put into a room with plenty of sunlight and gets accurate amounts of water. The second group gets put into another room with plenty of sunlight and accurate amounts of water along with some music. The first group of plants is your control group because the plants will grow and thrive like they would in nature with sunlight and water. The second group would be your constant because it has the advantage of music to help it grow.
an independent variable is a part of the experimment that doesnt depend on a ny other part and i changable. a dependentvariable is the same thing, but it relies on another part to uphold it. o yeah, i am 12 years old in highschool science and college science. constant means that it is always going. control isto test or verify (a scientific experiment) by a parallel experiment or other standard of comparison. 1. not changing or varying; uniform; regular; invariable: All conditions during the three experiments were constant.
