any personal experiences/ opinions about ur own need for control will be appreciatedWhy do we as a society seek control over influential factors and variables in our lives?
The illusion of some control over the chaos of my life makes me feel SAFE. This is the same reason many people become so stuck in a routine that they can't get out of. Either because it makes them feel safe or the act of not performing their routine causes an irrational fear that something bad will happen. Why do we as a society seek control over influential factors and variables in our lives?
Learning to control things is part of human nature.

We learn that by creeping and crawling we can get to interesting things on the floor, and we have a choice about which ones to investigate. This is control.

We learn to walk, and entirely new horizons open up. We have even more choices now because we can see more things. Choosing which thing to investigate is about control.

We learn to speak, and now we can voice our needs. Which needs we voice is a matter of need at first (I'm hungry, thirsty, etc.) but soon we can say Yes or No, and this is control.

In other words, learning control (accumulating personal power is another way to look at it) is basic to becoming an adult.

All societies seek to control the members of said society; that's why societies have rules, and it's how they identify members of the same society. We in the West seek to control things like inflation because we understand that severe inflation is a real problem. We also seek to contain the spread of infectious diseases, for obvious reasons.
i dont either.please stay on your side of the fence.
