What are the independent, dependent, and controlled variables in this science experiment?

If I dip a paper towel in alcohol or peroxide or water before planting the seeds in soil, then the germination rate will improve. What are the independent, dependent, and controlled variables in this science experiment?
The control variables are those where no experimental product is added; it is there as a baseline. An independent variable is the one that is manipulated by the experimenter, in your case, it would be the product (alcohol, water, or peroxide) that you add to the paper towel). Finally, the dependent variable, as the word implies, is the variable that depends (i.e. affected) by the independent variable, in your case, it's the germination rate.

Hope this helps.
