Which is the variable and which is the control??? PLZ HELP DO NOT SKIP IMPORTANT DUE TOMORROW?

THE PROBLEM

The problem in this experiment is that we do not know which type of cooking method will make the potatoes moist and tender.

THE PURPOSE

The purpose of this project is to find out which type of cooking method will make the potatoes moist and tender.

THE MATERIALS

9 red potatoes

1,150mL of water

1 pot

1 container

1 square plastic wrap

1 toothpick

1 knife

3 squares of foil

Oven

Stove

Microwave

Timer

Pencil

Paper

1 measuring cup

THE ABSTRACT/BIBLIOGRAPHY

The reason I am doing this project is to let people know the best way to cook their potatoes so the can get the best taste, texture, and color possible.

What I did was I got 9 potatoes, a pot about 13.5 cm in depth, a square container about 8 cm in depth and 16 cm in length, a measuring cup and 1,000 mL of water to fill the pot, 3 squares of foil that measures exactly 29.5 cm, and 1 square of plastic wrap that is 29.5 cm (same as foil) .then I put the pot on the stove and filled it with 1,000 mL of water and waited 10 minutes for it to start reaching its boiling point, then I put 3 potatoes in and every 5 minutes for 30 minutes I would stick the toothpick in and record how long it would take to penetrate the skin and go through to the other side at a 90 degree angle. To make the potatoes in the microwave I got the square container and filled it with 150 mL of water, put the plastic wrap on the container and poked 8 holes each 2-4 inches apart. After that I put it in the microwave for 30 minutes and every 5 minutes I did the same thing that I did with the pot on the stove. Now with the potatoes in the oven I had to wash them, wrap them in the foil, and preheat the oven to 232.2 degrees Celsius. As I preheated the oven I put in the potatoes for 30 minutes and repeated the same procedure as I did with steps 1 and 2 and timed how fast the toothpick went through the potato.

THE PROCEDURE鈥?br>

FOR THE STOVE

Get 9 potatoes, 1 pot, 3 squares of foil, 1 square of plastic wrap, 1 toothpick, 1 container, and 1 measuring cup.

Fill the measuring cup with 100o mL of water and fill the pot with it.

turn the dial on the stove to 6 or 7 and let it heat up for about 10 minutes

Before time is up get the timer and time how long it takes for the toothpick to go all the way through the potato.

After 10 minutes place the 3 potatoes in carefully so the hot water doesn鈥檛 splash up.

tell me whic is whichWhich is the variable and which is the control??? PLZ HELP DO NOT SKIP IMPORTANT DUE TOMORROW?
The variable is what you vary, or change. In this case it would be how you cooked the potatoes. The control is the thing you don't change. It is also the thing you compare you variable to. So, in this case, you would use a raw potato, and then compare your cooked potatoes to it.Which is the variable and which is the control??? PLZ HELP DO NOT SKIP IMPORTANT DUE TOMORROW?
I am guessing here...

the potato is the control...the variables would be the water, the heat, and the time....
